Christmas Gift-Giving for the Peacemaker

For family, friend, neighbour or colleague, give a gift that changes lives, that won't wear out or get lost! Choose from a sample of our 2015-2016 projects, then go here to make the purchase and let us know the recipient of your generous gift and we will send them a thank you note.  Whether supporting South Sudanese refugees determined to make life possible in the seemingly impossible conditions of a refugee camp or helping to keep girls in school - so that someday their voices will be heard in Uganda's public square; or supporting these young people who are literally driving the Peace Tour on Bikes in a part of the world whose violent conflict has gone mostly unnoticed.  And what about right here in North America? as if we are not in need of peacemaking right here where we are? Give to support someone - perhaps you! - to attend one of two week-long trainings in conflict transformation, trained as trainers and ready to change the world!

CPT-O Fall Retreat Friday, Saturday 11, 12 September 2015

CPT Ontario will be meeting for its Fall Retreat at the Hub & Hearth - Centre for Everyday Peacemaking, in the Hockley Valley the second weekend in September

The retreat time enables CPTers to debrief on recent trips and to practise non-violent responses to situations we have encountered in the field.  The setting is beautiful, situated on the edge of the Bruce Trail and Mono Cliffs Conservation Area, with the Hockley Valley Wildlife Reserve nearby.

Accommodations are spread between the house and the loft, with meeting space enough to accommodate 25 people. Trails on the property provide contemplative as well as exercise space, with a fire pit at night for songs and stories.

Photos are from last year's Fall Retreat, enjoying a meal together and doing a bit of in-kind labour!

Let's Change the War-talk Conversation: Partera's New Campaign

Dear Friend of Partera,

As a friend, family member, or donor you most likely have some inkling of what we’re up to here at Partera. But, did you know that since our beginnings, we and our trained trainers have successfully trained more than 220,000 women, men and youth to be peacemakers and influencers for peace around the world?

That’s an exciting statistic, we hope you’ll agree! And as with all international, hands-on training programs, a strong financial foundation is pivotal to continue our work. If you believe in the concept of training people to transform conflict, we hope you’ll consider a new and simple way of supporting Partera’s work: regular for you, and dependable and so life-giving for us and the thousands of people yearning for peace.
